On the way back from Barcelona we stopped for a night in Ljubjana, Slovenia. While there we were accomodated in the apartments of Luka (who is pictured above) and Špela (who is pictured in the video that you can see by clicking the following link (QT-MP4). Luka was still in Tarifa (which is why were able to stay in his apartment) and Špela served as a wonderful host, providing entertaining conversational tidbits without the least bit of sarcasm, while joining us for an incredible meal at Speck’s ( I do hope I have that right). The name was described to us as being the equivalent to “eat at Joe’s” in the U.S. All I can imagine as an equivalent in the Bay Area is Original Joe’s… but Ljubjana has them totally beat.
Slovenia as a whole was idyllic, and Ljubjana continued what we saw in the passing landscape.
