After Morroco we returned to Tarifa for another day of broadcasting and a subsequent day with presentations on a variety of alphabetical subjects including Geert Lovink’s reasoned discussion of the leveling of the technological playing field titled “Digital Orientalism” and Konrad Becker’s presentation on possession (demonic?) as it relates to copyright law titled “Psychic Property”…. The conference continued, but that was our last night at the borderline academy. A crafts fair of some sort overtook the courtyard that had previously been used for webcasts and presentations. Occasionally the crafts fair attendees became so enthralled by the neighboring marketplace that they wandered aimlessly into the chapel where more conference activities and no traditional crafts activities were taking place. This situation inspired Geert Lovink at one point to comment “the tourists meet the terrorists”. Indeed.
With that we left behind the winds of Tarifa and began the journey back to Novi Sad by way of Barcelona and Lubljana.
