Headlands Radio, August 30th

In today’s installment of Headlands radio from Neighborhood Public Radio, we begin with an interview of last year’s project space resident Kurt Lightner, who was back for an alumni visit. That was a mere 20 minutes, wherein we discussed the effect of the Headlands on his work and the nature of an upcoming project involving the obsessive etching of a giant tree.

After dinner we had a little impromptu gathering in the studio with wine and beer and conversation. The conversants were, current resident, and writer, Noria Jablonski, who talked about her work with the Innocence Project and her childhood in the Bay Area and it’s effect on her writing; alumni, Rian Brown, who talked about her experience of filmmaking and videomaking after an education in the 60’s avantgarde cinema movement; and Michael Fiday, who played some of his compositions as performed by the Juliard Percussion Ensemble, and a Mezzo Soprano named Soon Cho. Soon Cho performed a poem by Peter Gizzi.
