Headlands Radio, Worldwide Tuning Meditation
We’ve not been so communicative lately and for that we apologize. But, after nearly four years of fairly constant travel, and broadcast, while also maintaining full time jobs, we came upon a time where we needed a little break. And at the end of that break, we have the opportunity to live in the Marin Headlands. NPR will be in the Project Space at the Marin Headlands Center for the Arts until September 19th (we started August 14th, but it took a while to get set up, as we’re setting up branch offices in San Diego and Chicago at the same time as we’re starting this residency). So come by and see us on Sundays from 12 - 5 we’ll teach you how to build a transmitter (video or audio) or repurpose a toy instrument. And if you show up on Labor Day, we may have a barbeque going, but we’ll definitely have a kickball game going… so mark your calendars… Sunday, September 3rd… kickball and transmitter building at the Marin Headlands Center for the Arts.
We are also in our open studio Tuesday through Friday from 12-5.. not such a convenient time for those with day jobs, but if you’re free during the week… come on by.
We somehow failed to get any pictures of Tom Bickley and The Cardew Choir as they performed with members of the Headlands staff in Pauline Oliveros’ Worldwide Tuning Meditation which was performed live at Lincoln Center. Neighborhood Public Radio collaborated with free103point9 to send the voices of the Cardew choir to NY to be mixed live in with the voices from 8 other locations around the world from our live stream. So in the absence of pictures here we present some compressed audio in MP3 format.
