141 Demands with William Pope L.’s “The Black Factory”
Neighborhood Public Radio has been collaborating with Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and the artist William Pope L. to bring about “The Black Factory - 141 Demands” in the bay area. This is a hell of a fun project. Black Factory volunteers take the mic to the streets and ask community members what their demands are for a better world. NPR tags along and records them and then sends them out on the airwaves to the people. The responses have been all over the map, from more bike lanes, to a record contract, to complete anarchy, to more candy, to sexual freedom, to food and shelter for all, everyone’s got their say. This project is a must listen!
