Only 2 more weeks left

If you didn’t make it by last week we’ll tell ya what you missed.

Wednesday “Won’t You Be My Neighbor?” featured an interview with SF artist Marc Horowitz who published his phone number in the Crate and Barrel catalogue as a way to get people to call him to go out for dinner. As a result of this project Marc will be appearing on NBC’s “The Today Show” Monday morning sometime between 7 - 10 am.

We would like to announce to the world that, in journalistic terms, we scooped NBC. We’ll get the sound files up on the web ASAP. In the meantime you can listen to Marc talking to a few of his potential dinner companions on our September 24th broadcast .

On Friday we had the Conspiracy of Beards perform courtesy of Kitchen Sink magazine . The Beards played a set of Leonard Cohen songs after Evan Rehill introduced them by reading his article from Kitchen Sink’s latest issue. It was fabulous. Their voices were a perfect match for Southern Exposure’s Cathedral ceilings.

The weekend centered around San Francisco’s Open Studios and on Saturday visitors were greeted by the improvisations of Electronico Politico, Hideous Dream, Forward Energy, Tom Nunn and the Left Coast Improv Group. We were graced by visits from folks who just happened to pick up the radio signal as they were driving by and thought they would check it out as well as the usual throng of visitors checking out the studios of the neighbors at Project Artaud. A good time was had by all. Even the funk band next door.

All the details for next week will be in the week’s second announcement which will also include a link to the latest sound files.

In our last email we promised an announcement about the events we have planned for October 23rd (our last broadcast day). And we now have an announcement. We are still finalizing our schedule of Singer/songwriters to appear from 1 -5pm, and we have extended our broadcast an additional 2 hours on the 23rd to include a DJ set by Drew Daniel and M.C. Schmidt of Matmos fame from 5-7pm. Mark your calendars.
