9/30 Update

Since we started broadcasting the FCC has raided two unlicensed stations nationwide: KFAR on Sept. 15th in Knoxville,TN (http://www.kfar.org/pr-fcc-01.html) and, more recently, Free Radio Santa Cruz (http://www.freakradio.org/) earlier today ,Sept. 29th. These stations have done the work that has inspired us. To see them pinched by the FCC should worry us all about the risk of practicing free speech in the current political climate. We will continue for our prescribed period at Southern Exposure, and then…. we’ll be back. Keep an ear to the ground… or at least to the email…..

If you like hip hop and you missed A Radical Tea Party’s show with Entartete Kunst and the Rachel Swan interview on Wednesday then keep an eye out for our upcoming streaming media (no really, we’re gonna have it soon).

If you feel like maybe you missed out on those events, come by the space at 401 Alabama in SF on Friday October 1st or Saturday October 2nd. Not only is it Soex director Courtney’s birthday on Friday but DJ Pone and the DJ Project will be in the gallery. It should be more Hip Hop mastery and birthday fun than any one space can handle so early in the afternoon. Also, we just found out that Juba Kalamka of Deep Dick Collective will be coming by to read his latest piece from Kitchen Sink magazine and spin some cds during the usual “Fridays with Kitchen Sink”.

On Saturday, Billy Jam (unlicensed radio provocateur since 1994) and Hip Hop Slam bring the Bay Area DJ phenomenon to the Mission with phone calls and love for/from the Love Parade (http://www.loveparade.de/portal/loveparade/international/e_inter_sanfran_04.html) from 1-5pm.
